President: Helen Burch

The meeting was opened by President Helen Burch, with the pledge
led by Bill Fondren.  Ellen Fondren led us in prayer.  Guests included
Sarah Kelly, Miriam Nibley, and Janet Soesbe.  Bob entertained us with his
jokes.  A thank you was read from Bruce Creamer, Orpheum Theater.

Illness Report
Jack is feeling better and joined us.  Glenn is improving.  Chuck
continues to improve.  Evelyn had emergency back surgery on Thursday,
December 14th at Mayo Clinic.  We wish these members good progress in
pursuit of their health.  Keep fighting!

Phone Tree
Judy Pece will call or email with info to the phone tree heads and
they will get out the message.

Christmas Trees
The Christmas trees continue to sell.  December 7th there were 220
trees remaining.  As of December 10th at 2 pm there were 40 Scotch pines
left.  All but 8 were sold by Monday when the selling stopped.  The tent
from Herriott's was great.  It provided a great barrier from the cold,
rain, wind, and snow.  Customers appreciated it also.  Thank you to
Herriott's.

Christmas Giving
Preservation Family Services has several families with 16-17
children for us to support as we have in the past.  Jeanette Nugent
volunteered to coordinate the efforts of buying and wrapping the gifts.
The party for them will be December 18th 3:30-5:00 pm at the American
Legion on Bloomington Road in Champaign.  We will spend $35-40 on each
child.
Program
Updates were given on two of our continuing projects.  Janet Soesbe
from the Urbana Park District told of the UPD Summer Youth Theater which
has been in existence since 1992.  The continued support of UPD Busey Woods
is one of our projects.
Sarah Kelly and Miriam Nibley told of the Delta Sigma Omicron
Christmas party which we support.  This is for wheelchair children that are
assisted by DSO.  It was held December 2nd at the Phillips Recreation
Center.  Coverage of this event was on NBC Channel 15 and the News Gazette.

Christmas Party
The Christmas Party will be December 21.  Joan will provide the
meat and one potato dish. Those attending are asked to bring a casserole, a
salad or a dessert. There will be a gift exchange with a $10 suggested gift
price.  Mark your gift for male or female.  Gather at 6:00 at 305 Brady
Lane in Urbana.  We will eat at 6:30 pm.
