July 20th, 2000President: Don Chenoweth The meeting was opened by President Don Chenoweth, with the pledge led by Judy Pece. Marianna Janssen led us in prayer. Our guests included Lorna Morgan and Roma Chenoweth. Our resident jester, Bob Hutchens, informed the club sagely that the turkey needs stuffing. He said superfishally that he had recently seen the largest fish he had ever seen. A thank you from Ryan Gumbel was read. He will be with us at the first meeting in August to tell us all about this experience golfing at the Nationals in Florida. A thank you was also received from Riley who went to the State Golf Tourney. When you receive this bulletin, the fair will almost be complete. The fair slots are fairly well covered. Hopefully you did your part and worked or supported the workers in order to raise money for our projects. Youth Fun Day (July 27th) posters were passed out. We expect 400-500 kids age 12 and under from 1:30 to 4:00 PM. Judy Pece reported on the club web site that her son is setting up. They have been in contact with OI to get permission to link to the site and other details. Judy and Erick will present this next meeting. Roma Chenoweth presented the program. She gave a reading of Emily Dickinson's poetry. Some of the poetry was written in 1862 and included poetry about her life from birth to death. July Birthdays
